Hi, dear,

Recently I tried to render my videos using different profiles and qualities, and I stumbled on video qualities not matching Hi-Res I wanted.
In rendering window, choosing the format "MP4-H264/AAC", as I check "more options", and position the "quality" dashbar to the most RIGHT position, it shows the number "15" for video, and "256" for audio. I supose it should be "45" for video, and "256" for audio.

This started happen after me doing some weird stuff in some rendering profiles, which may be (or probably) the reason for this misbehaving. However, I tried many times uninstalling / reinstalling kdenlive, but some of my profiles (rendering profile, window layout profile...) still remained. So I have two questions:

1 - Is the profile I refer in correct settings or will I have to restore to default?

2 - How can I completely erase all user data / profile and do a fresh install on WINDOWS?

Default quality is 23 (video), 6 (audio). This is a good balance between files size and quality. Yes, it's a bit misleading about the numbers if you move the slider.

To reset the settings: go to help -> reset configuration.

Forgive me for hijacking the thread, but this is the first reference I've found to the "Quality" slider and the "Video" and "Audio" values in the Render dialog.

Where can I find an explanation of these values and how the slider relates to them? The manual doesn't seem to have any explanation.

There is a pop-up that indicates the values depend upon the codec, and I can see that it varies wildly from one to another (in the generic HD section, for example):
MP4-H264/AAC: Video (15-45), Audio (bitrates 64-256)
MPEG-2: Video (3-15), Audio (3-7)

It seems to be a matter of "bigger is better (quality)" here, but I'd like some more information to understand.
