Crash for every render

Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:16 pm
Hi,

I was under KDenlive (old version, I could eventually find the version).
I switched to Windows 11.
I took the opportunity to update Kendlive with version 21.12.0
As usual, I edited a project without any problem, everything is ok.

However, when rendering, it's always the same thing, it crashes at the end of rendering.

Here is a typical error:
[mp4 @ 00000000086ce480] Timestamps are unset in a packet for stream 1. This is deprecated and will stop working in the future. Fix your code to set the timestamps properly [mp4 @ 00000000086ce480] Encoder did not produce proper pts, making some up. [mp4 @ 00000000086ce480] Application provided invalid, non monotonically increasing dts to muxer in stream 1: 1153024 >= 1153024

I tried to change codec (acodec=libvorbis) for example, to switch to WebM/MPEG2/4K.... Nothing to do, it crashes all the time.
I tried to render only a very small part of a project, same thing.
I tried with old projects that I know are valid (already rendered at the time), nothing works...

I'm a bit desperate (but this will teach me to do cascade updates), if someone can guide me on a possible solution, he will have all my gratitude on 3 generations.

Thanks in advance to all of you and especially thanks for my nerves, because I'm clearly losing them!

Hmm, you did almost everything I would have suggested already. One thing I would still do is d/l the installer again, verify checksum, and if ok uninstall kdenlive, delete all *rc files and install again. If that doesn't fix the problem try one of the nightly builds. IIRC, they are all appimages so no need to install. Last resort: log a bug in the tracker.

Hi,

Tks for the answer! I've try a larger render and I've got this message :

[h264 @ 000000002be8be00] Missing reference picture, default is 0 [h264 @ 000000002be8be00] decode_slice_header error Current Frame: 18349, percentage: 29
[h264 @ 000000002be8be00] Missing reference picture, default is 0 [h264 @ 000000002be8be00] decode_slice_header error
.... blablabla, something very similar but with different values, a lot of entries ....
[mp4 @ 000000000092e9c0] Timestamps are unset in a packet for stream 1. This is deprecated and will stop working in the future. Fix your code to set the timestamps properly [mp4 @ 000000000092e9c0] Encoder did not produce proper pts, making some up. [mp4 @ 000000000092e9c0] Application provided invalid, non monotonically increasing dts to muxer in stream 1: 119406592 >= 119406592

I got the error decode_slice_header before, on a previous release and it wwas only (if I remember correctly) because of the parallel processing...

err... I have a very big project, I hope I can load it with an older vesion, I still have a computer with an old release on it.... pffff, really a little bit disapointed I must say!

I've uninstalled KDenlive, clean all the residual files and reinstalled it. Nope. I've downgdraded the OS to Win10. Nothing better. I've reinstalled it again. Not better, (re)upgraded to Win11 aaaaaannnnnddddd, now it's working!

Christmas wishes are a reality 😁 but it's a little bit long installation...

So, thanks again for the clues!
