Advance Photo Image Manipulation Tutorial for Krita.
I was trying to make the best practices for image manipulation in photoshop into Krita. It seems most of the tools are already present in Krita and have successfully done a film matte painting with it recently for our production. As such demo is not present in the web I have tried to make some. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnAARr1S7jUhcwFXP3LCrrNlA50LiXfnT |

Nice! Thanks for making these tutorials!
Did you also see GDquests video on using the cross channel curves for channel seperation? It'd seem like it'd be right up your alley |

That's interesting! Could you tell us a bit more about it? What went well, want could be improved and so on? |

Thanks for your interest. For a 8k plate it was quite difficult to do in PS for slow responsiveness. Krita handed it very well with brush engines. But for filters it was somewhat slow in Krita but workable. Later, I started with a 2k and then applied upscaling to 8k with Transform mask and using wavelet decompose and blur/sharpen filters. Result was quite good too. Partcle Brush Engine was very helpful for dust, smoke and debris effects. G'Mic QT was particularly a helpful plugin too. Overall it was a very good experience. Wish-list: 1. Ability to assign shortcut with mousclick...Like select opaque with -> ctrl+left click. |

Select opaque by ctrl+clicking the layer thumbnail is actually part of the 4.2 selection improvements(as is ctrl+shift for adding and ctrl+alt for removing as well as some other selection polish). Here's an excerpt of the 4.2 manual draft for selections.
Having more shortcuts based on mouse buttons is tricky though, and needs a rework of the input system. Again. |
