WHOO-HOO! I'm DONE!! Last tutorial - Hatching, Grid, Spray and Experiment:
http://white-heron.deviantart.com/#/d5sfiyp So now I've covered all of Krita's current painting brushes. So there is no longer any reason for new artists to fear the lack of documentation. Hurrah! (I don't plan to cover filters and stuff like that, sorry, I use Krita for painting D: ). The files: https://www.yousendit.com/download/UW16 ... SlExWjhUQw I'm looking forward to the next release! |

Thanks a lot,Valerievk,
I am glad that most important tutorials needed are already done. However a little focus on doing a tutorial on this by anyone would be really appreciable: viewtopic.php?f=137&t=109638

Not sure why i need to repeat that, Aman. It is absolutely not necessary to try to promote your topics on other topics. If someone is interested or knows an answer s/he might find a way to your topic. Quite the opposite though, if you repeatedly promote your unanswered/unsolved posts elsewhere, i can imagine it quickly annoys people to not follow those links anymore. And the result is not what you would want. Patience is what you need. And if there is no answer, maybe there is just is none? And lastly, on top of that, i can tell you how it looks to an admin: Would these posts point to an external link it would be considered spam quite quickly. Just that it points to an internal resource have stopped me so far marking it as such. So please do me a favour, stay on topic, show patience and enjoy every answer that comes without further promotion. |

I am just requesting someone to see into it.So that it would benefit everyone, not more than that.
If promotion was my bussiness,I would have explained the whole problem in the same comment.I strongly believe that feedbacks and discussing the problem with everybody will only lead to a solution. Further,my comment was on topic, not Offtopic.I have not commented about something else on some other topic which is not related. There are some users who don't see my threads but know the answers.Offcoarse patience may be my weak point,I may have to accept it. My other weak point is that I want to reach out to everyone, even those who don't see my threads. But what to do?If I don't get a good Lasso tool,I have to spent for a very expensive TV Paint software which will make a big dent in my dad's pocket,as per Indian economic conditions.Probably my dad won't allow me to buy that software. Then what about my future ambitions??? Offcoarse when discussion is about tutorial on Krita, and if I find a proper place to discuss it,there is no problem if I point towards a problem related to the topic of the thread. There is simply no problem mentioning a related web link, which is related to the topic. I didn't wanted to spoil the thread, nor a small mention of a another thread would really spoil the thread. However, this conversation between me and you on this thread between has spoiled the thread.I am feeling very sorry for this.Sorry if you felt bad,but I am trying to improve my habits.Perfectionists are like this, like me.They do anything to make perfect softwares in the world,to make perfect products I the world. And that is why they succeed.I am not calling me perfectionist, but want to be as perfect as possible in my work. |

Note, i am not questioning your need for a better lasso tool, even though that was questioned in a different place, not sure where.
But it is important to not cross the line of becoming an annoyance with such requests (or better, amount of requests for one topic. A quick search shows 27 out of 68 posts are about the lasso tool, and not in just one topic). Krita devs are indeed very responsive to most things, but like with every other open source software out there, you cannot force a solution. Either it fits in the grand plan or there is someone interested enough to implement it. Or there is simply not enough need for it (why would i want to invest my time in something that 1 out of 1000 users wants, and not even me). Now about on- or offtopic, this particular post might have been ontopic, but others were not, and more importantly, like i already said, it is simple crosspromotion. From my experience i can tell you, you reach the entire opposite of what you want. Turning people away. Another experience is, people tend to stick to certain forums which they regularly visit, not just topics. So there is no need to link to a topic in the same forum. But to not do the same mistake and go offtopic, if you still have questions, feel free to PM me. Apart from that you should now know what i mean. |

Thanks a lot!
I know that Krita team is very dedicated, but still I may be I don't have much Patience. I mentioned sometime back a web link for a tutorial about how to use textures in vector layers.I didn't mentioned a link to discussion on lasso in this thread yet, because I know that this thread is not related to lasso tool request.

@ Aman Shah :
Test it Compile Krita 2.7prealpha on Linux : the fix you asked about lasso tools get into the trunk since already weeks. Try it, give feedbacks , show screenshot ... etc... Use it Show us what you can already do with Krita, tell us about what you succeed, and what you didn't. For the moment, you speak more than you do or create. EyeCancer : Please remove your red huge signature 'Warning' ( http://i.imgur.com/CZ99PxP.jpg ) in post before I flag all your post as spam and block every signature CSS in a custom addblock rules. You can use signature for badge, links, citation or even personnal sentence ; that's is fine. But your is poluting. You don't see it ? Thanks in advance |

I was not knowing which signature is allowed and which is not allowed. If you think that my sign is really bad, then I will remove it,although its not a spam.(let me sign in through laptop,iPad can't handle some buttons on website)
I know its difficult to make codes in any software.I appreciate the effort made by Krita team.I know from my experience in working on imventions,Gravity powered engine, designing Aerodynamic cars, etc. Ya definately I will post screenshots for a problem, but right now I don't know any info about any screen shot software.Of you know some info, please let me know about screen shot software. |

Thanks,I am using krita 2.5.9 on windows, not tried linux.I have removed my signature,I dont understand what bad you felt about that signature.(but it was regarding physics and research on alternative fuels, not regarding painting).[Note that I am shifting from W7 to W8]
Good Night.I have to get up early to go to college to start Final year Project work.(pursuing Machenical Enginering, interested to do Enginiering Physics masters in Germany). So I am going for sleeping. |

Stop right there. I hope you realize that: 1. Krita's purpose is Not to save You money. If it does, good for you! But that'd only be a happy coincidence. Many of the artists using it do so because they like it, not because it saves them money. Many of the professional artists you see here also have Photoshop and other expensive software, because if somehow Krita lacks something they need, they still have to get the job done. The Krita devs are trying to make a great program that their target users enjoy, the economic aspects of it are secondary. 2. Frankly, the absence of a "good lasso tool" is NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL. The problem is Your refusal to find workarounds or use alternate styles of drawing. You Can design a car Right Now with Inkscape. You can draw a car Right Now in Gimp. You can even draw a car right now with a pencil and a sheet of paper. If your design is good, it doesn't matter what program or what style you're using to render it. The problem is that you Insist on using that One style that you saw in that particular tutorial. If you don't like the interface of Inkscape or Gimp, that's your own problem, and your own responsibility to get used to them. If you're not satisfied with the lasso tool for example, why are you not using the Path selection tool for example? I covered it in my tutorials months ago, so you don't have the excuse that you lacked documentation. Maybe it takes a few seconds longer, but you can still get the job done. 3. If you don't know how to do something like take a screenshot, Look it up. In the time you've spent asking the same thing over and over in several different threads, you could have easily typed "How to take a screenshot" in a search engine. The Krita dev team is one of the friendliest and most helpful bunch I've seen in any Open Source community. This is why it made me want to contribute back to them in any way I could (which was documentation). It frankly makes me angry to see that you're abusing their kindness by treating them as free employees whose goal in life should be to save You money (how are you going to compensate for Their time, effort and expertise?). The Gimp team would have told you "You want something? Program it yourself" from the start. That's Open source for you. You either do it yourself or you learn to be patient.
That wasn't a tutorial, that was a feature request. And I already told you a workaround when you so rudely asked for it in the comment section of my Hatching brush tutorial (would you be happy if instead of answering your questions, people started talking about ponies in the threads You start?). Use a vector layer. Make use of the alpha-locking feature. Place texture layer on top. Place gradient layer on top. It's the very first part of my layers tutorial, frankly you'd have saved everyone some trouble if you actually read existing documentation. |

Krita already supports Textures on Vector layers.I have found this.It already has inbuilt library of textures. But Unfortunuately,I can't figure out how to use it. Initially,I might have asked it as a feature initially in that thread. But now when I know that the textures are there in the library and I can't figure out how to use them,I am just asking for a tutorial. The second comment update in the thread about textures in vector layer clearly explains this situation.May be I couldn't communicate well here. I think the comments in between were unnecessary. Valerievk mentioned that "there is no longer any reason for new artists to fear the lack of documentation." Here,I thought that the tutorials on Textures on vector layers are not covered and I should point out that it will be better to mention about this.So I mentioned a link.Thats it. Then comes lot of unnecessary comments. What can I do?I don't think that I have mentioned any other link in this particular thread which takes you towards discussion of Lasso tool precision problem. It was sudden avalanche discussion I never expected. Valerievk mentioned that "there is no longer any reason for new artists to fear the lack of documentation." Here,I thought that the tutorials on Textures on vector layers are not covered and I should point out that it will be better to mention about this.So I mentioned a link.Thats it.
Sorry for asking about vector layers in your hatching brush tutorial on Deevant Art website. Sometimes, mind does not work properly, but it was not at all rude.Neither I had any bad intention.Forgive me for asking on your article about textures in Vector layers. I am a bit impatient.

Nah, I'm done with tutorials for now. After covering just about all of Krita's painting functions by myself, I Really look forward to getting back at less stressing and more enjoyable activities. That and, there's a mountain of other stuff that I've been putting off that I really need to get back to now. Ouch.
That said, I'm really looking forward to resources made by other people. I've seen some awesome stuff drawn in Krita by other artists, and it'd be awesome to see step by step tutorials from them! |

@valerievk
I somehow missed your tutorial nr. 7, and it has expired on yousendit now - could you please upload it again. Am I right to assume that the image posted in that same message belong to tutorial nr. 7. Anyway, thanks for your great work. I'll start converting the missing tutorials to UserBase now and post links here as they gets done. |
