Hello,
There is not a good deal of (good) tutorials at the moment for Krita. But there are many tutorials for other applications that can be done greatly in Krita, and that can be useful for the beginner. I propose that we use that thread to collect the tutorials that someone has reproduced (or be inspired) in Krita, including the resulting image and if possible a link to the .kra file. Do not hesitate to add a few hints on how you did it in Krita, I am sure it would provide valuable information for others. See viewtopic.php?f=138&t=82966 for how to add images to your answer. |

I used http://nagare-boshi.deviantart.com/art/landscape-speedpaint-tutorial-127172455 to produce the following image:
And you can see the .kra file: http://cyrille.diwi.org/images/cyrillustrated/Valley.kra |

There are 5 lessons on Lifehacher about Digital Painting.
I find it kinda cool for the beginners. It's done in Photoshop, but I think most of it can be done with Krita. http://lifehacker.com/#!5781134/digital ... lete-guide

I would love to do a Krita tutorial sometime soon, but the windows version of Krita just isn't there yet. I did a tutorial featuring Mypaint and Photoshop a little while back http://2darts.com/2dtuts/tutorials/making-of-dragon/
I'm really, really, rooting for Krita, it has super potential. While I've used Linux and even like a few aspects about it, Windows 7 and the programs I use on it are a better production fit for me. The versions of Krita I have tried are great but not polished enough (on windows) that would pull me away from photoshop. Although Krita is about 95 percent there (as far as me using it fully), it just needs a few more touches. I wish I could program - so many ideas on things that could be improved with Krita. If the next iteration of Krita is stable and the transform tools are quicker - look for a tutorial by me soon.

Reall cool dragon there! You drew it Fast! But yes, I wouldn't recommend a professional to try to do professional work on the Windows version of Krita yet, since you can't afford to have bugs mess up your work and deadline. Krita is extremely fun to use for mere hobbyists like me though, and tablet-less hobbyists (on Windows, unfortunately, maybe Mac) are probably 90% of the users out there. Tools like the sketch brush and curve brush are perfect to recreating tablet-like lines. I'm also really looking forward to further improvements that seem scheduled, like faster performance, infinite canvas mode, and better masks (hoping for group masks too!). |

Hi valerievk
We could really use good tutorials for Krita at http://userbase.kde.org and your two tutorials look great. If you agree I would like to copy them to UserBase; however as they currently seem to be in the form of one big image, I would need the image files for the images and preferably also the text - plain text file is fine, but I can work with most formats. The big advantage of having tutorials on UserBase is, that they can then be translated. |

Um... like this?
https://www.yousendit.com/download/WUJi ... VGF2eE1UQw It's a bit messy I'm afraid, I originally did most of it directly in the .svg file, so here I extracted all the text and images from the .svg file. You may also want to edit away some various personal comments and such. I'm no good with the wiki format, so I'm afraid I won't be able to help you there. Anyway, I don't know how this works, but if anybody feels like modifying the content, I'm quite fine with that too. Anyway, I'm starting on more in-depth tutorials on the brushes, but it will likely take a while as I figure out what the options do exactly. I may also end up dividing That tutorial into two... |

Thanks a lot. I'll have a go at it. As soon as I have something useful up on UserBase I'll post a link here.
As for future tutorials, if you wish to make them directly on UserBase it is actually very easy. Just enter the plain text and leave the wiki formatting to me |

The first tutorial is now ready (sort of - I still need to go through it to make sure the formatting is ok). You'll find it here: http://userbase.kde.org/Krita/Tutorial_1. Comments are welcome (here or perhaps better on the Talk page of the UserBase page).

Wow, that's pretty cool! The formatting looks a lot nicer than I expected! I'll link to it from the Deviantart tutorial.
