Testing out new PC setup with Krita

Tue Oct 16, 2018 2:56 am
I finally have a new PC with my Huion display tablet installed. This is my first sketch to test it out on.

So far I'm more concerned with customizing my tablet but it's been good so far. I'd like to try out different ways of masking areas. Before I had a hard time creating them and saving them. Supposedly I shouldn't have a problem rotating this canvas with so many layers.

System setup:
CPU: Intel i7-8086K
RAM: 32GB
Graphics card: Nvidia 1080
Graphics tablet: Huion 221

Here's the latest progress on this. I'll make some minor adjustments later today.

I really tried an oil painting effect on this earlier but I was never good with that medium. One of the pen brushes aren't very accurate at a certain zoom level. Whether it's Huion Driver, or the hardware itself, I thought I should mention it. It usually registered a few pixels above where I was laying the pen down.

I created a slight blur motion on the forearm using Corel Paintshop Pro. I know Krita has it's own blur effects but I couldn't get them to work. To be honest the layering in my file would have required a lot of rearrangement that I didn't want to mess with. I prefer doing those types of effects in a photo-editing software, as I mentioned in another post.
