All suggestions for improvement are greatly appreciated.

I seriously hate the mess I made behind. How do I do those awesome background textures (like in the works of Ico-dY or Ramon)? I tried to copy the style but failed miserably. I seriously need to learn that.

A very basic drawing; my first on Krita (using V 2.5 Alpha 1 on Windows 7 64-bit) and my second digital work overall. Before this I was just scribbling on the Windows build of RC2. This one is much more stable and faster than RC2. I have had only two crashes; the first was after clicking "What's this" in the "Help" menu (and this always happens when I click the button); the second was immediately after exporting to PNG, which I can't seem to reproduce.

BTW is there an option somewhere in Krita to improve the smoothing of the brush stroke, comparable to that of MyPaint? The setting under the tool options doesn't seem to give satisfactory results (This will make life much easier to draw with a mouse).
