Hi there! I always enjoy fast sketches - sadly most of the clients wants to go all the way to details (that I suck at).
Everything on your sketch is more or less realistic but sword looks like from some manga. blade is way too wide, pommel too small and grip too short. Of course if you are heading for realism - this sword would be totally out of balance. If you just want to knock out pretty picture then its all good. The only thing I dont really dig in this picture is this ball of light on blade and that she looks a bit bold above the ear. BTW I REALLY enjoy your concept art brushes for mypaint, thank you! Hope you will enjoy Krita enough to give away some brushes for it as well |

Hi Nezumi, i apreciate your sincerity, good wy to learn and improve. I agree with the sword stuff. too heavy, not realistic. If i decide to finish it some day iwill follow your advice. ar change her style to Manga completely. not a bad idea neither. another excuse to make crazy hair. Thanks again.

Hey, I hope I don't have to say that I like overall look and I just point out what isn't right in my opinion. I noticed that people from different countries and cultures are taking critique in a different way. For example Americans are "softest" people I know - can be offended with just about anything. American forums are full of just "AWESOME!" and "GOOD JOB!" with hardly any negative things, even under... not so good jobs. But like you said - how to improve if people just drop some slogans in comments? I see in my own paintings so many failures... Anyways I like to be clear on that part - I always enjoy your work and not trying to be smart **** in here - just saying what I think could be better thats it.

It has a pixel-art vibe. Geometric brushes?

@Charblaze: It is just a mixture of different brushes. If you look to the neck you can find "triangles" this was done using the predefined brush with Triangle shape" and giving it a "directional" based on angle effect. i was experimenting a bit with very geometric shapes in the face (like android jones style). The light above the head is done with hairy presets. all i used is on default resources nothing special. I think we have to find new ways to use the already things that we have in krita. the trick is find new ways of expression, so ideas are welcome as always.
