So I'm sketching up suggestions for a CD-cover for a band called One Inch Giant that plays kinda stonerrock'isch music. Its just a sketch for the cover though since they wheren't sure they wanted to use an illustration.

The idea of it is to have it kinda specificly Swedish and fairy tale like with dark and dream-like undercurrents - without being violent, machismo or posing.

I love the cover -- the music perhaps not so much

Cool artwork it fit the style and those color area will certainly have a good effect printed.
The musique remind me hearing loud guitares when I was younger , as in Type'O'Negative and Danzig

Boudewijn: Haha thanks (I kinda like stoner rock so for me it works great ).
I'll post the end result when its done. They have to see whether or not to use the idea but I plan to do a complete thing anyway because I kinda liked the feel of it. Just dreamlike enough - not overly so, just hinting.

Deevad: thanks! I plan to keep the colour fields and avoid "smoothing effects" in the finished one but with allot more detail to it.
I grew up listening to metal and never really stopped.

You really catched that "Svensk sommarkväll vid sjön" feeling. Great work! I liked the music. I'm an old Black Sabbath fan and they really got that feeling and sound.

Nice sketch, mastery as usual - but I am not sure I understand the relation with the music.

Endoraniendo: yeah sadly though they wanted something different or some other stuff going on which I kinda think would break the effect by being too weird. I liked the subsumed style of it.

Sredna: well they do some kind of stoner rock thing but have a tendency to gravitate towards fairy-tale imagery and I kinda thought I could bounce of that and go with it and do something that is kiiiinda dark in what it implies but also normal...

Anyway did another wholly different sketch so they had something to compare it to, just to give them something to argue around you know? ("we like that one better because of X"). Still centered on a character and now a bit more surreal and going with the "Great White Beyond" title.
I wanna stay clear of the usuall metal imagery which tend to be either hopelessly cheesy or ridicolously over done.

It's so bat that your cover did not fit. It was really nice style.
