Some Paintings Done In Krita

Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:44 pm
You could say that I've officially "Moved In" to Krita. I use it almost exclusively now. I got hooked on some of the features, and now every time I'm in another program I find myself wanting one. That Shift+Drag brush size sure is useful. As is the quick presets pop up. Don't even get me started on how much I love the brush engine!

Anyway, just wanted to share some of the things I've done with it. I hope you all like! Honest critique is always welcome here!

Image
This was done for a group on deviantArt for environment promps. Made entirely in Krita.

Image
This is a design for a species creation of mine, with inspiration taken from the wonderful world of Japanese mythology. They're a "horror" species that uses scare tactics to get attention. They are completely harmless, they're just like needy children throwing a tantrum when ignored.

Image
And this was my attempt at some art for a nonexistent album entitled Steampunk Cyborg. This is the textless version.

Also, all of the paper/watercolor/metal/grunge textures used on the final images are from http://texturemate.com/
A completely free resource and one I use frequently.

As I said before, Critiques very welcome!

Wow, I really like the texturing on that last one, it has a very nice effect. And the green beast looks awesome! I Love the fur! How did you paint it? Hahah, I want one of those beasts, If they want attention I'll give it to them! xD

Thank you! I learned everything about how to paint fur from good ol' tutorials on deviantArt. Then I developed my own style from there :)

I see, yes, I did see a bunch of wolf fur tutorial on Deviantart lately. Glad to know they work well with Krita too! :D And nice job working out your own style!
