Studies on Krita

Hello,

I've discovered Krita this week and made my first study on it. It's a new exercise for me, not really creative but interesting and pleasant. :)

So here is the first one from "Memoirs of a Geisha" (this picture) :

.. I didn't suceed to render here mood, and colors need to be more bright. But I'm still happy with the result. After all, that's my first. :p

And i retried with a second from the same movie (this picture) :

I didn't liked the picture very much but i was interested by the scene ande the bright red light. I changed her face too. I'm not very fond of this character. But something seems wrong.. I you see what ?

Currently I don't really know how to use all the brushes and effects so I'm just doing my best with two brushes and the eraser (i only pick randomly some brushes for the polish). I just use the layers for the organisation but have not learned how to do cool stuff with it. I'm a little bit overhelmed with the possibilities so if you have some tips for me, that would be really nice. :)

I plan to try to make studies after animes and BD too, I think I will post theme here.

(sorry for the poor english, I'm not fluent at all. :s :))

Huhuh, thank you. :)

I finished this one too this morning. It comes from a BD of Fred, "Philemon". Here is the picture.

(full size here)

I made the last machine on a livestream. I doubt you will learn anything viewing it, but well... Any tips still welcomed. ^^

Hmm, also, Krita crashed badly and corrupted the file. Fortunately i had saved a .png from a previous so i could retrieve part of the thing. :|

A new one from an old picture i had on my hard drive. unfortunately the original one seems to have disappeared from the web. You can see it here instead.

The sand and the bridge were really hard for me to do.

I'm not happy with it. As usual i attempt to do it as a 'speed', but it took me some hours. So i retried after, and indeed it took me like 20 minutes. Now the first version seems flappy to me. Something may be wrong with it, but what ?
