Still learning Krita but, I'm comfortable enough with the program to try a more finished painting. I still need a lot more technique but it is as good as my current talents can deliver.
Krita version 2.7 alpha, I had a crash when doing gradients in sequence. You can see the making on youtube http://youtu.be/Y-RI9Q0nyso and ashort descrption of the process in my blog https://colorathis.wordpress.com/2013/03/07/session-the-conquest-timelapse/ Size image: 3424x1925, About 3hrs in the making. Wow, that's pretty! I love the rich red hues and the details on the girl and the cliff. I'll add your video to the Krita resources section!
I was pretty surprised by the color selectors you used in the dockers though, I didn't even know that Krita had those. I thought you had switched to Gimp. x D Is there a particular reason for this choice? |

@valerievk: Thank you, I'm not that good to be in the krita resources page, but I appreciate it, makes me happy.
About the colour selector dockers. I'm trying to get better results in colour combinations, digging deeper into the "Art Color selection" docker I find it useful to get color contrasts. In the video in particular I used 2 color hues to get complimentary colours. The bottom one, the "advance color selection" docker set to Upper black>Chroma>white and dish to Chroma>Gray resulted good to get different hues and values out of my colour selections . It is also very useful to use to get shades of grey using the top bar (black to white). Before getting to this setup I was planing to open a bug report to get a wheel similar to this http://www.huevaluechroma.com/pics/7-1.png, this http://academics.triton.edu/faculty/fheitzman/colorstar.jpg or this http://stevepell.ca/colour/, wich are more on par to colour theory (yellow facing purple, red facing green and blue facing orange), but I decided not to because I'm still trying to understand colour inside RGB space. In the end my main idea was to get colour harmonics on the fly like this kuler app works https://kuler.adobe.com/#create/fromacolor. I hope it makes sense, Also I figured that it was a waste to set the advanced color wheel exactly the same as the color wheel that pops up when pressing <f> @mifth: thank you, I'm glad it was useful.
