Hi.
I'm no David Revoy, but thanks to Krita - and with assistance from GIMP and Inkscape - I managed to cobble together a new cover for the first book in my horror series for kids. (I write under the pen name of E. C. Crawlie for this series, mostly because my real name, Matt Jordan, is just too boring. ) The painting itself was done in Krita and I really learned a lot about how Krita works and how much I like it. I then used GIMP for a bit of post processing. Finally, the text and layout was all done in Inkscape which I also used to generate the full cover for printing. (I haven't yet learned how to use Scribus but may try it for my next project.) Anyway, I really enjoyed painting with Krita and I look forward to continued improvement in my painting skills as well as even better comfort and familiarity with Krita as a tool. Matt |

Awesome! Feel free to link to the place where people can buy the book, when it's available, too!

Hi Muhkayoh,
Cool to see this new cover done with Krita! Quite different style from your Synfig work ;.) |

Thanks, guys! My introduction to Krita was through the Comics with Krita DVD, by the way. I still have my copy and I hope to finally do some actual comics again soon.
For the book, I'm using Amazon's publish on demand service for now, so the paperback is at http://amzn.to/1ahY9KT. I also did a Kindle version, DRM free of course, and it's at http://amzn.to/1fbeKWI. Matt |
