Metro-Girl
Time: 2 days (~15h) Reference Image: http://goo.gl/mfRaJq (with the friendly permission of the photographer Kevin Cool) As this is the first work i am posting here i like to give some informations about it and i think in this forum it is also a good idea to speak about the experience with Krita - the pro and contra sides having on the mind after finishing a work... At the moment i am learning to see the most important features of an image and therefor i am just taking photos and reduce the object to the smallest "possible" amount of lines. From that point i started adding some colors and yeah i could not get my hands of this beauty and ended with the image you can see.. So from the point of drawing and getting the proportions and perspective this is more a copy, but i can say that it was good to do so as i have learned a lot from this work. Speaking about the experience with Krita during this work the good thing was that i have been very focused on the image all the time with only a few times of interuption to search for specific tools or fumbling with settings. Thinking about all the topics and suggestions to improve the UI of Krita i have to say from my point of view, that there is not so much that needs improvement. After i have customized krita to my needs and identified the tools and brushes i really often use for my work i have all in a blink of time at hand what i need. On the contra side there is one thing i like to mention. The adjustment of threshold for selections (fuzzy/by color) has annoyed me. The slider is too small for the values or so - i don't know its just annoying^^ It would be smart to adjust this like the brushsize (with on canvas input) maybe with a direct preview of the selection depending on threshold |

Thank you for sharing.
I think your character is too soft! the texture behind her is too sharp and takes more attention! The amount of sharpness and detail could take the focus point of the eyes of your viewer, so I think more texture and detail of the girl could direct the attentions mutch mutch better towards the main subject. thank you. |

Thanks for taking the time for this feedback. I wasn't satisfied with the relation between background and character, but couldn't figure out why.
I fumbled around in blind actionism. Now i can see it more clearly. I am very sure that your point is what i have missed, because i wasn't able to "zoom out" of my work during the painting process to think about it as a whole. |
