This was one of my first Krita sketches; it materialised while I was testing my first custom brush:
Seven months later, I decided to blow the dust off it and give it a fresh coat of paint (mostly using the same brush): Higher res, un-cropped version is here: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-toLBN50R9HE/U52APyL39dI/AAAAAAAABW4/-RIjw7LqTY0/s2048/exogenesis_i.jpeg Don't know whether there'll be more... thought I'd better call it a sketchbook just in case there are. Wow, truly amazing. This work has a lot of atmosphere. It's kind of calm and it has a sense of danger at the same time.
Cheers!

That's pretty much the effect I was aiming for - thanks Mithferion!

I love the rocks in this one. The fire constrast very well an helps to define the contours. But the spaceship ( if this is what the geometric shape is) looks unfinished . i think you need just 10 minutes to give it a new pass !

Thanks Ramon,
I wanted the simplicity of the "shape" (it's meant to be ambiguous ) to be in contradiction with its surroundings, so I refrained from adding detail to it. It's a bit of a foreign concept, so perhaps that's causing the unfinished appearance (or otherwise my rendering of it was unsuccessful...). (c: |
