This is the very first personal illustration (and the first scienze fiction themed I ever did!) I have finished in Krita. I'm not completely satisfied with it, but I like the end result.
So far after a couple months using Krita, coupled with a Cintiq Companion, I'd say I'm amazed how fast this software handles images. In particular pan/zoom/rotation: smooth as hell. A pity the adjustment filters arevery slow in preview, but then i don't use them much so I can bear with it... Only real problem is the continuos risk to leave down a stamp of the brush tip everytime I use the multi touch pan/zoom, wich forces me to work using selections to temporarily mask the image part I'm working in that moment to minimize the risk. Still, it's a great painting software and I didn't start to make personal texturized brushes yet! I advice every illustrator I know to give it a try. You can see a larger image at this llink: http://oi62.tinypic.com/2u9654l.jpg Original is around 6500x4500px |

very nice! I just started using Krita recently too and am blown away by how good it is (and how cheap it is). It could use a few improvements, but what program is perfect? I like Photoshop too, but am starting to dislike like how bloated it is getting ( 2.5GB install with their latest version).

Wow, very good work. The Post keep getting better and better in this section. Post more finished stuff here. I need to do the same lol. My only wish is that this gallery forum allowed for larger image post.

Thanks guys!
Krita is indeed powerful and one thing I like a lot is how developers are open to users suggestions. Scottpetrovic: It's been a long while I used photoshop for actual painting... Back to Photoshop 7! I mainly used Painter in the last 8 years or so, then I passed to Procreate on the Ipad for the ipad (best painting software I ever used) but due to the limits of the machine I had to go back on a real computer... And I discovered Krita. Artmessiah: took a look of your website, did you make those last three characters in Krita? i like the texture-work they have! Hope to find the time to work on some non job related artwork soon. |

@Azzart the last three paintings on that site were done with Procreate. You can see the "Zombie Skn texture and "Rough Skin" texture among other textures in all the images. Photoshop was only used for image resize and the color balancing (they were done before procreate added the color balance function). I do everything in Krita now.
