First drawing with Krita just to try it out. Just a few mountain peaks over some dark clouds. Yikes, looks pretty amateur compared to the other pictures here. While I am not inexperienced with digital artwork, the program I used previously was... Well, it was limited in the extreme, to be generous. I'm a simple man; I prefer to use one layer and a simple circle brush anyway. I've played around with a few others tools, but found them incredibly confusing, with steep learning curves. I do tend to be technologically impaired. But- I am determined this time to actually learn. It's... Probably gonna take a while. |

Hello,

I have just read a book about the Italian painter Sandro Botticelli [1]: To make it short, it looks like in Botticelli's time you were supposed to train at least 10 years as an apprentice before you might be considered an established artist. Therefore, it has always been like that (no matter your field of work): If you *really* want to excel, you usually need many years of hard work As regards your first try with Krita, IMHO, it is already quite nice [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandro_Botticelli |
