A study of emotion. This is a sort of tearful surprise I think. Maybe mixed with some fear.

Krita, about 2.5 hours. Used some reference for the perspective. Fun to make a more weirdly framed image!

Hah, that's an interesting observation! I experiment quite a bit with both "merry" and "sad" images and expressions so hearing a view on said expression is useful.
Maybe it's the nordic melancholy that is shining through.
