Hello everyone, this is my first painting with Krita (trunk) and first post!
I'm really happy with the recently increasing of stability, features and interface ergonomics and I hope Krita reach industry standard quality soon.
Precisely I'm looking forward for a working mixing-brush, an integrated MyPaint engine or importer, a non-destructive and free canvas rotation, rock stability, speed and... A manual!

Go Krita team, go! I'm rooting for you!

What brush engines did you use? I'm personally interested - I can see a little of spray but it's quite hard to guess

Yes, oh yes! I tend to paint and blend at the same time with the same brush.

WIP What was slow for you personally?
Sometimes selecting certain brush options or with some filter the speed dropped considerably, but overall it was good. I'm comparing Krita speed to Easy Paint Tool Sai (the fastest painting program I know), so it's a really good result.

What brush engines did you use? I'm personally interested - I can see a little of spray but it's quite hard to guess
I used the following brush engines:
Chalk Brush, Deform Brush, Hairy Brush, Particle Brush, Pixel Brush, Smudge Brush, Soft Brush, Spray Brush. If you're interested I could send you a copy of the presets, but they've really horrible preview at the moment.

Yes, please upload the presets somewhere. Maybe you can even tell which are slow for you and I can try to optimize them.

Very textural and painterly. Beautiful textures on the background and "flower petals". It's a little detail, but for some reason, I really love the light coloured "drips" (with the spray brush). They give it a very organic feel.

I'd definitely like to get this moved into the Krita.org showcase (along with Deevad's "Angel"). I just need to prod boud for the ftp details again.

Wow! I'm so amazed at what artists already can do with Krita . As a developer, I mostly code, start krita, check the feature -- squiggle, squiggle, squiggle, close Krita and code some more. Seeing art like this makes me very happy and not a little proud of what our team has already achieved .

About the mixing brush, well -- it's on my todo for 2.3 to bring mixing back, but I'm not making any promises. There's so much to do still

Oh my goodness! This piece is so lovely! I haven't touch Krita for a couple of months because I've been busy with school and research. Out of curiousity, did you save you brushes on the pop up palette?

This really encourages me to integrate the pop up palette more!

No.Since I refined continually the brushes set, I used the drop-down menu on the top.

ah,ic. Can you describe more about 'refining'? Does that mean you change the settings of a particular brush? How can I improve the palette better?

Yes, particularly the following brush's tip characteristics: diameter, ratio, fade, angle, spacing and sometimes opacity.

How can I improve the palette better?

About the current pop-up palette I really love the color and the history selection; imho they're perfect. But It's hard to remember the brush assigned to the icon. A tooltip with the name and the brush preview would be very useful.
