Hi,
I've just reached building from trunk and am happy to get it working, except I have the wacom no-pressure bug (I'm on Ubuntu 10.04) So too bad I can't really use all those brush engines for now, except the "Sketch brush" engine which is awesome, I love it! Here is a quick and dirty self-portrait sketch to say Hello Krita team, keep up the good work! More serious work to come when I'll have solved my pressure issue |

Nice drawing. The pressure problem can be solved. See the help subforum. If you have problems with that don't hesitate to ask.

Cool drawing!
Sketch brush is quite hot thing in Krita's brush engines.I did not manage to blog about it yet . It is still under development so some presets might get broken. Let's be warned. Btw the sketch brush is inspired by project Harmony. E.g. here are some nice drawings http://www.flickr.com/photos/dailypic/4426386549/ Original tool http://mrdoob.com/projects/harmony/ The sketch brush engine is most of the brush engines from harmony in one. I plan to make predefined presets so that it is more obvious. My advice regarding this brush engine: lower the opacity in the tool option to 10 and paint. It is so coool and funny to play with!
Daylight is coming...

Thanks for your answer slangkamp, I've solved my wacom issue with the new QT from kubuntu ppa.
@Lukas: Yes I knew I tried something similar to your sketch brush, and that was Harmony Btw your adaptation is very good if not better than the original, I like the actual default preset. I agree with your advice that using it at low opacity to search some design can be cool, a bit like in Alchemy. But I like to use it at full opacity too, toggling with the eraser mode to dig in shapes. If you wanna use this sketch to illustrate your blog or anything feel free to do it, you're welcome! |

I already intended to use your sketch in next week's Last Week in Krita on http://www.krita.org . People like a bit of art mixed with the development news, and I very much like the man figure, he's really well-done..
