This one was made with sketch brush for outlines, pixel brush for character colors and deform brush (with Ico-dY's cool "smooth salt" preset) for background.
Creative commons by nc nd 1000x1000 version on deviant art (Original working file is 2000x2000) I still really like the sketch brush, it seems even better than before (Thank you Lukas for the work on it ) |

Wow. What a nice illustration
Just out of curiosity. How much time did it get you to finish this Indian warrior? |

Thanks for the comments.
@Silvio: Between 1 and 2 hours, something like that. @Adamc: Not yet… But probably later ! |

Love the use of the sketch brush to achieve a real pen and ink feel. Your illustrations have a similar feel to one particular very good, long-time artist in 2000AD the English sci-fi comic, but I'm having trouble remembering his name... :/
Nice work! |

Maybe are you talking about Simon Bisley ? If so I'm flattered by the comparison, as I must say I'm much inspired by his work (And if it's not him you talked about, I would be curious to know who it is as I'll probably like his work too!) |

Gah. I tried looking at Wikipedia to see if I could find the artist I was thinking of, but because the art's all copyright, Wikipedia has virtually no images from *any* 2000AD artist
I *may* be thinking of Carlos Esquareza, but can't be sure without rummaging through my old comic collection Any chance of the .kra for the (newly fixed) Krita.org showcase? |

You probably meant Carlos Ezquerra (not Esquareza).. Thank you for the discover (I didn't know him before).
Ok here is a .kra version with all layers used (I've just reduced a little the resolution of the original) : .kra |

Thanks AnimTim!
By the way, did you know that when you save a Krita file, you can choose either "Krita Document" as normal or "Krita Compressed Document" which will gzip it down for you automatically if I'm not mistaken. I'll have this up on the showcase as quick as I can! |

About the Krita compressed document I didn't know this.
So I've tried but didn't found how to do it! When I "save as", I can choose between: -Document Krita : the one I always use -Document Krita (Uncompressed XML files) : it save the file in a directory with separate elements. -Document Krita (Encrypted) : I got an error when trying to use this one. So did I miss it? |
