Ok, here's a new one and here's the .kra file:

http://koti.mbnet.fi/mmyllyma/supherkri.kra

* For some reason, I can't get antialiased lines for paths. See .kra file -- all lines are very ugly when seen close. I'd like to have antialias and the choice to use it in UI (sometimes these ugly lines are needed, if you need to flood fill something for example).

* Bitmap path tool fills always, and there is no way in UI to stop that. Workaround of course is vector path.

* Sometimes the path's width is strange. If I select width of 1, it still is quite thick, much more than 1 pixel.

* There is no add normal layer in menu, only '+' in layer list. That may confuse users.

Some of those 'problems' may be due to not having 'real' KDE, I'm running plain Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx with KDE libs on top.

And Krita is 2.2.2, newest I could find. (Hint hint, compile 2.3 for Ubuntu... xD )

I think I know what happens -- the resolution of your images is 600dpi. Apparently, the underlying paint engine feels that at that high resolution, anti-aliasing is no longer useful. This might be an issue with the library we are using. Btw -- if you are mostly interested in vector art, it might be worth it to try Karbon, which is the vector brother of Krita. We share the code, but Karbon is optimized for vectors, Krita for rasters.

No worries. I'm having fun with Krita now, it's more than enough for many purposes. Most importantly, it's quite fun to use, even if it sometimes baffles a bit... ;D

I may test Karbon later.

I love the stance and the bold, angular line work. Was somewhat beaffled to see it done in vector on Krita, but, hey I guess that's what the tool is there for! He looks slightly stretched between the abdominals and the hips, but other than that a great illustration! I'd love to see him coloured with a background!

Thanks for nice comments, Kubuntiac!

(Yeah, Karbon seems to have same tools, but I find Krita to be very flexible...)
