First work in Open Source

Wed Jan 19, 2011 11:44 pm
Hi, I'm a spanish guy with a very few english level (google translate power):D

It's my first work with Krita, and my first work in Open Source. I never wanted to draw on Linux, I did not like any program except mypaint, until I met Krita. This programa is... oh God ¡It's perfect!

Only have some problems with speed of "filter brush" and several crashes (Krita 2.3.0 in Ubuntu 10.10 with ATI) but the program is absolutely professional. I've only seen one professional program as Linux, blender.

God job

Very nice work.

In case you find some crashes or other problems please report them, so that we can fix them. If you don't know how you can just ask here in the forum or in the krita IRC channel #krita on irc.freenode.org

There are so many different and my English level so low that I am too lazy. And whenever I've reported bugs have blamed me or my graphics drivers ... If I could make a kind of comprehensive report everything that passes over me would be easier.

For example, the blur filter with a brush, if I finish painting without drawing undo the effect is blocked until it finishes.

Or give ideas, as that would allow (if possible) put more columns like dockers GIMP 2.7.3 or brush with presets ... If i have time I will.

No need to worry, many team members are not speaking English natively. We can manager that.

Usually when the application crashes a dialog will show up with information for the developers. The dialog should guide you with the report. This information helps the developers to find the cause. All bugs are bad and should be investigated.

I'm not sure what you mean by the columns. Brush presets can be added. In the brush settings there is a button to save the preset. You can choose a brush preset with the button right next to the settings.

The columns are currently limited that Qt can do. Apparently in 4.x they decided it would be better to have just one column. So this will probably stay for some time that way.

We are already working on the preset docker and it will very likely be in the next version.

The columns are currently limited that Qt can do.

Qt allows multiple collums if you activate "AllowNestedDocks" at the main window. (QMainWindow::dockOptions)
