This is my entry for Megaman Tribute contest. I don't know if I can upload the kra file yet because this image is for a contest, but you can see in bigger resolution here: http://al-dy.deviantart.com/art/Megaman-Tribute-Rush-On-Fire-200348841 Tools: Gimp 10%, Mypaint 30% and Krita 60% |

Very cool! A and a great example of using the free software graphics apps together. Can you tell us which app you used at which stage?

Thanks boudewijn
I started the sketch and base colours with Mypaint, then I continue the details with Krita and finally when almost is finished I put the textures and some details with Gimp. You can see the process of the illustration here: http://al-dy.deviantart.com/art/Rush-On ... -200387887 |

Very nice
I will quote nice information
Our stock value raises! That's good. I would like to ask about mypaint. Is there any particular feature that you miss in Krita from mypaint? So far the status is that there is branch with mypaint brushes. I'm curious if it is some UI thing (infinite canvas) or some editing feature (brush, mirroring) or something else?
Daylight is coming...

The original image is bigger (3400x4400). So I tried work with the same document in ora format on Krita, Gimp and Mypaint and I obtained better results with Krita + OpenGL. The differences of the speed is remarkable. This is why I did most of the work on Krita. And finally I prefer save the document in kra format, because when you save the document in ora it's taken much time.
The infinite canvas is a great option when you start with the sketch, but the feature that I miss from Mypaint is the color blending of the brushes. With this option you can create new colors more quickly and in some cases you can get better results. Mypaint and Gimp Painter has this option. You can see the feature in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIg8Omew9Ps& |
