Hello there , it is nice to see how Krita is evolving. As i am practissing sometimes , there are "cool" sketches that doesn´t go to the trash folder. this is one of them. My grandfather was fisherman. so this is dedicated to him. I never known him. I was testing brushes, specially blending modes and mixbrush color smudge. I am a bit angry, because i cant'achieve blenders as i like and i don't know why exactly. Blenders are very important and for the moment i use a preset but not perfect. Also i think there is a bug when we upload brushes to opendesktop. and i have no idea what happens.I talked With MrBeast and Deevad and they give me the same feedback i am preparing some brushes for each category to ,at least, show some features of Krita. I hope coders solve this problem. anyway, here is the image done entirely on Krita for testing new things on brushes. |

Beautiful piece, Ramon. It has a very Van Gough feel. Nice use of a fairly subtle, moody colour palette. Love it!
Any chance of a .kra & license so we can feature it on Krita.org? |

Can you elaborate on this a bit? Maybe in a Deevad style provide example image how it behaves in Krita, how in mypaint/gimp or where you like it and try to describe the effect with words plassy did some changes to the blending mode to remove "brain mode", might be related.
Daylight is coming...

The image is really great! It looks like it is painted in oil
O_o I hope you don't wanna kill me or something... you don't know where I live, huh?? If you tell me exactly what you want (maybe with pictures) I can try to implement it into the color smudge brush (since I have to reprogram it anyway) but it would be nice if you could send your suggestions to the mailing list.
Hmm... this shouldn't be related to the color smudge brush. The changes don't have any effect in direct painting mode. |

Hello, i don´t want to kill anybody plassy, don´t worry about that.
Thanks to Animtim i have realised that i was using the wrong tool for blending. I was using "smudge brush" and i achieved interesting blendings but not the softness that i need for usual blending on skin, clothes, etc.. This type of blending is better achieved with the "color smudge brush". I use now. this one is more complete with more options , so i decided to left the "smudge brush" as it is and start to work more with "color smudge brush" for blending tasks too. for the moment is ok for me. now i can perfectly, sketch, paint, and blend, the three basics pillars for cg illustration, so far i am happy with the result. |

About a two weeks ago, I also started to learn "Color smudge brush" and trying to use it. Soon I made some presets, that mimic oil painting. It's very powerful brush engine, only problem is work with transparency, but I learned how to fix it and it's OK for me now.
At the moment, this is my favorite brush engine in Krita. |
