Hi folks, just discovered this great software thanks to kubuntiac's script
I've been doing random things in it getting the hang of how it works; here are some nose-excersise I did (because I suck at drawing noses): It's just google image search->nose and then draw the first few I saw. EDIT: In case Krita devs want to use this humble excersize, it is allowed as per the posting guildine: CC-BY Bassam Kurdali. (I doubt anybody would want to though) |

If that is your bad stuff, then we demand the full image
Nice work. Glad you found Krita |

Hey Bassam,
Awesome to see you posting here! I keep track of Tube pretty closely and really appreciate all the blogging and interesting work Team Tube™ are doing. I'm sure we'd all love to hear about any experiments you get up to with Krita. One of our targeted use cases is also painting textures for 3d, you know. Just let us know and I'll make sure it's shared with the entire Kritaverse social media empire (or something like that) in no time. Anyway, some beautiful sketches, although there's some issues with the bridge/nostril of the woman's nose just right of center. I'm very happy that my script was able to be a help, and would love to hear about any future Krita escapades you get up to. Kubuntiac PS There's a bunch of things that are cool but not necessarily easiy to discover in Krita. I'd suggest anyone new to Krita take a look at this thread where they're collected over here. |

Nice to see you around Bassam and good to see also you work on making your drawing skill better. It makes me also want to draw more studies.
If you have a question about a part of Krita; don't hesitate to poke us on IRC ; #krita on freenode. |

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome; I didn't even think anyone would reply
Kubuntiac, good eye; it's indeed wrong (checking with the reference).. looks like I should do more studies. share away; I'm personally switching to krita for tube, because of the support for higher bitdepths (though, so far I'm only using 8 bit) and the butter-smooth brushes! Deevad, thanks for the encouragement, so far I've no questions (I'm quite a simple user, with simple needs) I'll have to watch your DVDs and see if I can get better (so far painting with colors is just... a big mystery to me - indeed the too-high contrast nose started as an attempt to paint with colors, but I hurriedly grey-scaled it because I couldn't bear looking at it any more ) anyway, it's big fun and I'll try to keep on improving. |

I often think darkish background + grayscale is best for studying form in any case -- at least, when I'm using analog media . I know that Deevad usually colors his work by putting one or more colored layers on top -- but others work in color directly. If you figure out what's bugging you about the color selectors, please tell us!
Oh -- and have you tried the alternative color selector we have, the "artistic color selector"? You can find it in the Settings/Dockers menu. That was done by Silvio Heinrihc, who paints directly using colors. Please keep us posted with any issues you find when using 16 bit color; that's something not everyone uses, so it's relatively untested in real life. |

Thanks Boudewijn! I'll be sure to note anything that may or may not crop up during 16bit usage.
As for the color picker, it isn't the fault of any feature of krita, just my poor skills in handling colors. I need to follow advice, watch Deevad's tutorials, and do some more practice. |
