I'm bad with names. In any case, wanted to have a desktop like no one elses. So I started work on this thing. Currently maybe... a third of the way done with it. At most. Probably a good deal less.
But even so I'm feeling absurdly happy with this. I feel almost like an artist. (Haha) It's probably a little early to start bragging, especially over such a mashup kinda picture (seriously, what am I thinking? Succubi + noir?) but oh what the heck! This is my first real effort with Krita and I have to say I am very impressed with the program. I'm definitely looking forward to the 2.4 version. Only problem I have so far is that I can't rotate the canvas freely, or at least can't find an option for such. Er... yeah. Let me know what you think, and feel free to use this however you please once I'm done with it. -EmEss First update finished. I've put a description of what I've finished up below. Full sized version (3200 x 2000) here: http://imgur.com/Mxyit. Must... resist... urge to be... inordinately pleased... with... self...! I'll also keep older versions up for comparison - previous version (full sized): http://imgur.com/pHdoI That is all. Farewell!

Nice! Lots of mood in there. For canvas rotation, select the pan tool and press shift; there'll be a rotation dial on the canvas. The ctrl-[ and ctrl-] shortcuts rotate the canvas in fixed increments.

Wow. Looks great! An interesting mix of vector and painting. I particularly like the very "wet" look of the footpath. It really looks like some kind of watercolour painting. Intruiging composition, too.
Can't wait to see the updates! |

Alright, got a bit farther. Things done: I resized the guy in the background since he was completely off scale (and I'd even reminded myself before initially doing him that he was), did some work on the other sidewalk and a bit of refinement to the broken bit of concrete on the near side. But the big thing is the asphalt (which I believe has come out rather well) and those posts along the inside of the sidewalk (which I probably used the wrong tool for but which out fine anyway).
Probably not as heavily textured as it could be but...
... vector? Well, not quite; I find vector art a little too tedious to bear, so I don't use vectors usually. I'm glad you like how things are coming out though; I am rather pleased with how wet I've managed to get things looking. Anyway first post updated. |
