It's been over a month since the last drawing challenge.
I had a lot to do and didn't find time until now, but as promised, here is the new Iteration of The Monthly Drawing Challenge! The previous winner was askinner, he chose this month's topic: The Bridge The topic changes every month. Every image should be somehow related to the current topic. It would be nice, if you could also add an explanation, how it is related to the topic, if you think that it is not clear from the image alone. You can submit your image until the 23th of June, 12:00 UTC, by posting an image as answer in this thread. For posting images, the same rules as in the Gallery section apply. After that, a poll will be created and forum users can vote for the images. The poll will run for 7 days, the winner will be the one with the most votes until the end of the poll. The winner will have the privilegue to choose the topic for the month July. I hope to get more participation than last month. If you could spread the word on social media and recommend it to friends, it would be great! I am, as always, looking forwards to an interesting challenge with a lot of great works.

Rather than doing just a straight painting as I am accustomed to I tried to learn some of Krita's other tools for this project, including mirror mode, assistants, filters, photo-manipulation with masks and the cloning brush. I was originally going to model the bridge and lamps in Blender, set up a camera and then render out a shot and base the painting on that image... but then I found a Victorian-style photo reference that I liked even more than my original concept (and it saved a ton of work!).

I am currently practising drawing mountain landscapes (see http://moritzmolch.com/1896 for details) and came up with this "Bridge in the mountains". I used the following brush presets: Splat_wet_cells for the clouds, Bristles_wet for the mountain shapes, Bristle_frottis for the texture (I enabled cut off on the pattern and tweaked it to my liking) and ink_precision_03 for the bridge.
Kind regards |

Hi! This is my first post. There are beautiful things on this forum! And nice bridges!
Here is my contribution for the bridges, so, a Bridge of Stars I found a new "concentric circles" assistant after the update, today, that was great to use! I think a did a bit too much. well |

The drawing phase of this Monthly Drawing Challenge is over and we got some really nice bridges here
I hope you enjoyed drawing. Thank you very much for participating this month and making this challenge possible. A poll will be started in a few minutes, when it's online, everybody can vote for the image that you like best.

The poll phase is over now, the winner is Kaerhon!
Thanks to mmolch and askinner for participating, also thanks to everybody who voted and helped making this drawing challenge possible. Unlike this challenge, which was a bit delayed, ext month's challenge will start on the 1st day of the month, as usual. I hope, I'll see you again in next month's challenge.
