"Decklink card not found."

Wed Nov 19, 2014 11:26 am
Hi

I have problem with decklink card, when I'm starting and trying to capture "Decklink card not found." appear...
I've discovered that starting kdenlive from root account temporally solving problem, but its not a solution.
I checked to solve it by adding decklink card to video group, the same with user and few other options, any ideas?

Version 0.9.10
Using KDE Development Platform 4.14.2
Linux OO 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-2 (2014-11-06) x86_64 GNU/Linux
issue with Multibridge, and last version of decklink driver...

Thanks

Hello,
So it seems it is a device access rights problem, not a Kdenlive problem.
Which group is owning the device? (in "ls -l /dev/the_one_you_want").
Then you need to add your login to that group...

hi

for example i've changed device access for

crw-rw-rw- 1 mixer3d video 10, 57 lis 24 09:08 dv0

but there is still nothing, card works in MediaExpress even there is root.root
there is nothing under device window inside "detected device"
how to check which and how card are invoking inside of mlt/kdenlive?
how to run kdenlive in verbose (in CLI) mode?

greetings

to get all debug output, run "kdebugdialog" and check kdenlive in the list; then run "kdenlive" from command line and you will see all output in console.

search "mlt decklink" gives also examples on how to pilot the card directly with melt...

ok,
in console there is only "DeckLink card not found." information when I'm trying to click play...
but when I invoke program with su permission I have "evdev ioctl: Wrong ioctl for device"

I will go to check mlt with decklin in normal user mode, thanks for suggestion

Hi

update:

i checked supported profiles with "melt -query profiles"

than check with:
$ melt -profile atsc_1080i_50 decklink:
+-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+
|1=-10| |2= -5| |3= -2| |4= -1| |5= 0| |6= 1| |7= 2| |8= 5| |9= 10|
+-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+ +-----+
+---------------------------------------------------------------------+
H = back 1 minute, L = forward 1 minute
h = previous frame, l = next frame
g = start of clip, j = next clip, k = previous clip
0 = restart, q = quit, space = play
+---------------------------------------------------------------------+
Current Position: 345
