inverse telecine - pulldown removal

Wed Jul 01, 2015 9:52 pm
it would be great feature in kdenlive to do inverse telecine / pulldown removal to extract the 24p from the wrapped 60i footage. there are lots of camcorders which records this way. I could not find a way to do this in kdenlive so I used handbrake converter to remove the pulldown before import the footage into kdenlive. handbrake loads the wrapped 60i footage and save it as native 24p. if this can be done in kdenlive it would save lots of working time and avoid video recompression.

I bet it totally can via passing parameters to ffmpeg, you could look into that. It might not do it on import, but it could certainly do it on export.
