I'm using Kdenlive 15.08.2 under 64 bit arch linux.
KDenLive used to be a joy to edit with but latley its become unusable. I'm not sure if there is just something wrong with my setup or if its bugs in the code but effects are basicaly worthless. The first problem is if I use the speed effect and then I save the project. And then I reopen the project ITS GONE!!! I use this effect SO MUCH and it just makes it impossible to use. I have to render clips sped up individually and import those into a bigger project because it just doesn't work. Not only is the effect gone but if the clip had part of the front cut off its reset to the front so I can't just re-add the effect I have to re-cut it to where it was speed up from. The second problem is moving clips with effects around. It seems to work fine if I move a single clip on its own but move a group and all the effects are toast. They show up but they don't work and you cant delete them. You save and reload and THERE GONE! I usually record intros to my videos after the meat is edited so I have a better idea of what to say and this really kills me cause it means I have to redo every effect if I move it over a bit to the right to fit the intro. I hadn't had these problems in the past but now every video I edit I end up re-cutting over and over because I can't save with effects. Things constantly get screwed up while working on it. It works fine just for arranging things but effects are just useless. If anyone knows exactly what version number things started to go wrong at that would be helpful cause I really cant use the latest version in the Arch Linux repo's. Or if maybe there is some setting I can change or someone knows what exactly the root cause of these problems is in the code that I could take a look at and try and get it fixed it would be much appreciated. I'm going to go mad if I keep having to cut videos like this... |

Hello,
15.8.2 unfortunately presented important regressions, can you try to upgrade to 15.8.3 if now available in repos? Cheers, Vincent |

Hello, I'm also on arch 64bit. I'm surprised 15.08.2 runs at all on your system. In my case it wouldn't run at all. 15.08.3 definitely is better, as was already mentioned. Currently, I can only highly recommend to use the mlt-git and kdenlive-git AUR packages, as they are much more stable than 15.08.3 in my experience so far. |

How weird. There isn't even an official 15.12 tag yet https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kdenlive.git Right now it's only in [testing] though https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?sor ... =&flagged= |
