Hi kdenlive community, i recently started to use this cool software, a big thanks to devs working on it, a lot of nice features already in it
I come from tv editing, and as a profesional i worked a lot on avid media composer, premiere and final cut 7. All of these softwares has builtin ability to handle several timelines in a same project, and i think this is an almost absolute needed feature for working on long project (documentary, feature films... all project longer than 10 minutes) It allowed you to make derush timeline, with all good takes, pre editing, several version of your edit... You can copy paste edited clips between two timelines I know it's easy to ask, and surely hard to implement, but this feature could make kdenlive ready to handle much more "professional" projects i think ! |

- you can just import a .mlt or a .kdenlive into your project and drop it as a single block in your new timeline (be sure to have the same resolution & fps; and changing the length of the imported .kdenlive will shift everything in your parent project )
- you have the "library" where you send timeline zones, that become available in any other project. when importing such a fragment, the bin clips are added and the edit is expanded in your new timeline. further edits to the original project are not available to the new project: there is no link between the two files... |
