Hello there,
I'm new to digital painting; however, I've been using Gimp for years. I see in the manual in progress that there is an option to import a picture, but I do not see this option under the File drop down menu. Is this function missing or not available for Windows users? I am using the Gemini platform under Windows 8.1 with an old Wacom Bamboo tablet. Thanks for your assistance in advance. I will be patiently, but anxiously awaiting your response. --Illustrate 44 |

Thank you for a quick response, but that is not what my issue is. I can open an image just fine; however, I want to import an image into my existing project. Is this not a function available under the Windows version of Gemini? Or is this this function only available under Linux? The manual here: http://userbase.kde.org/Krita/Manual/ImportExport clearly shows that this should be an option. I apologize if that sounds offensive, but I am still looking for a sufficient answer. --Illustrate 44 (still patiently and anxiously waiting) |

You can import pictures into existing project by dragging them onto canvas simply - when you do this few options will appear. You may place it as layer in existing project, as new document or replace existing document. You may even drag multiple pictures and import them as layers all at ones or open them as separate docs. You may drag pictures directly from web browser too.
I wonder why there is no import option - I didnt noticed since I am always just dragging pictures into docs ![]()
