Here are new builds for Krita:
http://heap.kogmbh.net/downloads/krita_x86_2.7.9.5.msi http://heap.kogmbh.net/downloads/krita_x64_2.7.9.5.msi There are some important changes in these builds * The x64 build now installs by default into the right folder * The installer now allows custom install locations * The fill tool uses 75% less memory * The swapper now works on Windows, which means that crashes due to being out-of-memory shouldn't happen anymore * The X86 build is much more stable -- there was an interesting problem there with our memory management. We allowed 50% of the main memory of the system to be used for tiles. However, 32 bits Windows has a 2GB limit per process. If you've got 4GB of memory in your system, Krita would use the full 2GB for tiles, leaving no memory for the rest of Krita. * The color paletes have been refined * New icon for the magic wand/contiguous selection tool * Support for non-zero fill rule in the experiment brush (thanks to David Gowers) And lots more fixes! This really should be a very, very stable version of Krita on Windows. There is at least one known regression: * On Intel GPU's with OpenGL enabled, canvas-only mode only works if you disable hiding the titlebar |

Great! Already noticed a few long standing issues that have been fixed. Will keep testing...
(c: EDIT: Text tool still causes hanging. |

Noticed, using FX_explode brush imidiately after using paint with multibrushes will 100% crash the program on my gear each time i do it. Tryed 64 bit an 32 bit versions.
I have Intel i7 CPU, 6 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX760 , Win7 Ultimate (64 bit), Wacom Intuos 3. |

Could you add a bug report about that on bugs.kde.org? Then I'll check when I am next in Windows.

Something's a bit off with the Popup Palette - the active clicking area for the brushes is only about half the size of the icons, and there's a ring of grey void in between the brushes and the colour patches. I suspect this may be already known as it looks as though the size of the colour selector has been slightly tampered with (or am I imagining things...?).
Should I submit a report? |

No, a report is not necessary. We're trying to make the color area a bit bigger, but haven't got the layout quite right yet.

No worries, that's good to hear.
Since it's being updated, perhaps I'll suggest that it might make sense for the hue ring to be thinner in order to make room for a larger shade/saturation triangle, since the thickess of the ring doesn't add anything to the sensitivity of hue selection (although its overall diameter would). Being able to custom-size the palette would be ideal though of course. (c: |

There's an issue using the Transform tool in which Shift has to be pressed after dragging when constraining move/rotate/resize rather than before, which I found was reported and apparently fixed some time ago: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=317200 . Would it be better to add a comment to reopen that case, or to file a new report?

Ok.
By the way, don't be alarmed by an influx of reports from me lately - I've been stockpiling a list for a while and have found some time to confirm and make them known. ![]() |

Hi Boud,
I may be totally wrong but it does seem as though the latest installer for the 32 version (2.7.9.5.msi) is not correct. In short, it is the old previous version which is installed on my computer... ![]() Today, I have downloaded this 32 bit installer twice to make sure everything was "fine" with my setup. I have installed twice this newest version on Windows 7 - 32 bit (Professional edition). The new "wand icon" is not available (whereas I got it on the 64 bit version). In addition, the Title bar shows "2.8 Beta 1" (and GIT D75LEC9) instead of "2.8 Beta 2" (available with the 64 bit installer). You get the "smoking gun" by trying the Filter > Adjust > Brightness - Contrast ![]() This filter is a sure-fire method to crash Krita - 32 bit on Windows... In less than a minute, when you try this filter again and again, usually, Krita crashes with my jpeg 9 Mb image (the one I always use for testing Krita...) P.s: I have suspected there was perhaps something wrong with this new installer by reading some new bugs reports yesterday (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330141). Best regards! |

Argh... You are right! Yes, I packaged the old build accidentally, instead of the new build. I'll make new packages!
