Please help me find the reason!

I have had about a dozen reports of people who have tried to run Krita and who get a crash when they create a document. To figure out what is going on, I created a special debug version of Krita

If you have this crash with the 2.7.8.10 installer of Krita, on 64 bits windows, you can help me...

To help out, you need to:

* remove the c:\User\USER\AppData\Roaming\krita directory
* install Visual Studio Express 2012 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=34673, get the wdexpress_full.exe installer)
* get the special debug version of krita (http://heap.kogmbh.net/boud/krita_debug ... 7.9.11.msi) and install it.

This package is twice as big as the ordinary download because of the debug symbols. It's also much slower. It needs to be installed after visual studio express.

Then:

* start krita
* start visual studio express and use the Attach to Process option to attach to krita.exe.

If you now reproduce the crash, Visual studio should show you the call stack and the place where Krita crashed. A screenshot of the Visual Studio window and a copy and paste as text of the callstack window is what I need.

I have a similar problem with Krita 2.7.9.11 on a XP SP3 / 32 bit. When trying to create a new document (either empty or from clipboard), opening a GIMP document or a simple JPG file, Krita loads CPU 100% and Mem Usage keeps growing. Is there a debug version I could use to help with this?

What caused the problem for me was I altered my tablet settings, clicked ok, then went back to the tablet settings and pressed default and it crashed.

Here's the screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/5XJOHYd.png http://i.imgur.com/ZvrPg72.png

Hm, I had hoped for more detailed information :-( Is this with the special debug build?

I'm sorry): I did what you said: removed krita directory, and I did use the debug you provided.

Meh... That means back to the drawing board for me, the debug build obviously doesn't work like it should :-(
