MY SMALL TIFF COMMENT:
As far as i know Tiff is like PNG. It does not have layers.
Tiff is widely used in movies as it supports 8, 16, 24, 32 bits. And it can store SMYK and other color formats...

Well, like PNG i guess. :)

Baseline tiff doesn't, but Krita goes quite a bit beyond that.
