I completely forgot... Probably because I feel guilty because of the 100 forum messages backlog I have! In any case, if anyone has missed it: 2.8.1 is out

I ALMOST missed it, but community is going strong so there is almost no way to hide

Boudewijn, you rock! Like Nezumi said this is a stellar update. Fixed all the problems on my surface pro and I couldn't be happier. Thank you

In the changelog it says tablet support is fixed in OSX. Is there an OSX build available somewhere?
|

No... A number of people build Krita on OSX for themselves, but nobody has made a package yet.

I have noticed the speed has changed massively since the last 2.7.9 ... the one before the 2.8 haha!
However I'm still having some brush problems. These do not work for me: - Block-Tilt & Pencil-Tilt (apparently other people have said this before) - Hatch-cross-regular (works but is just plain black brush - is that what it is meant to be?) Which I'm sure you'll point out to be that it is just me. Aside from that - it is amazing. SO MUCH QUICKER IN EVERYTHING. Instead of sitting around 70-80% it is now around 10-30% of my CPU usage. Some brushes like the Airbrush will push it massively up to around the 80-90% but overall amazing! I haven't used it for hours on end yet but so far so amazing :3 |

And 2.8.2 will be faster still, because it will use a lot less memory while painting
![]() I need to look into those brush problems. Are they reported to bugs.kde.org? |

Reported .... err no? I didn't know they were bugs yet. Also I just tried it out for awhile. Crashed twice trying to load a large file of around 5000x7000. Then crash twice trying to use a brush. Then worked fine for 30 minutes until I saved and closed the program. Considering I was using fill continuously on the page, it was fine, but trying to load crashed, I think it might be temperamental with me. I have enough memory and my CPU is reading fine until it crashes. I'll use it again tomorrow to see if I get the same result. It could be me since the previous ones did similar. One thing I notice was that I clicked the save button (hard disk icon) and it says it is an error and can't save but I go to the menu and click the save button and it works. Weird hahaha |

Feels faster, but I noticed that the lower button of the pencil of my Wacom bamboo doesn't work, I want to configure it for "pan canvas" but only identify the "right" (upper button) and "left" (pen point) buttons.

Check what it's set to in the wacom utility. If it's set to double-click, Krita can't do much with it. Set it to middle-mouse-button in the utility and it'll do panning in Krita. |
