Hi!
There's a super experimental new Windows build ![]() ![]() http://heap.kogmbh.net/downloads/krita_x64_2.8.79.3.msi This includes a ton of work since 2.8, ranging from color corrected color selectors to improved gradient editing, from photoshop-compatible blending mode shortcuts for painting to a whole new gmic version. The resource bundle manager is very much work in progress! If you're happy with the 2.8 release, please do go on painting with it. This is a build from the middle of our development focus for 2.9 and not everything has shaken down already! |

I painted around with it a little bit in Windows 7 x64. So far pretty stable. I didn't check any specific features yet but working quite solid at the moment
![]() EDIT: I am using Wacom Intuos4, if that's important. |

Popup Palette buttons look to be in order again - huzzah!
A little thing though: if the cursor is set to Brush Outline and you move it outside the Popup Palette without selecting anything, it becomes stuck on the edge when you move it back in again, and you can't see what you're selecting. I think I'll be using Brush Outline with Triangle from now on anyway (thanks for that addition!), but since it defaults to Brush Outline I thought it was worth mentioning. |

Yes, that's a fairly recent regression. We haven't found the culprit, though

Another Popup Palette thing you're probably already aware of: when selecting black, white or grey in the colour triangle, the whole triangle immediately turns greyscale and snaps from the current colour to point at red.
On a side note, I've always found the rotating triangle a bit disorienting; you have to keep realigning your brain to the new saturation and value positions when changing hue (especially when directly clicking on opposite sides of the colour wheel). The fixed triangle of the Advanced Colour Selector is more intuitive in this regard. |

Downloaded the new build and am up and running without a hitch. I was hoping beyond hope to see the Animation demo in this build (as I saw the awesome video posted today), sadly it wasn't there. Any clue how soon we might be able to play around with those tools? They look fantastic!

@eric3dee
Hi! Animation development is still on a separate branch as many things need to be polished. About a time frame for release, all i can say, because it's all I know, is that it will be ready, when it's ready =(. I hope it can be included for 2.9 release, that would be awesome!

It seems that brush resizing (using shift) only works horizontally with a stylus now (or did it already do that... my memory might be playing tricks..). Any chance of having it work vertically as well/instead? I find a vertical motion to be more ergonomic, as well as more consistent since zooming is vertical. Yes? No?

I tried it and, besides the popup palette thing, it really works. I like the new icons so much.
I have noticed a new option on the Smudge brush engine (smudge radius) and it seems it doesn't work well yet. What it's supossed to do? ![]() |

It's supposed to be a sample radius for the dulling brush. Mohit hasn't really finished it yet as he mentions here: https://kritawithmohit.wordpress.com/20 ... to-smudge/ |

Noticed that the locked docker button resets to unlocked every time... just FYI.
A little bit of infinity makes up for a lot of nothingness.

So, it's like an invisible radius which defines the final color of the stroke? Like a giant color picker? Also, Druban is right, the locked docker button resets. Didn't notice that. |

Thanks for your work in making Krita available for Windows users. The painting experience is amazing and for a GIMP user it's completely impossible to go back! The smudge brush - I've been trying to get that effect in GIMP for so long by using two brushes one after the other, and still not getting what can be done in one simple stroke in Krita. And the speed of the other brushes is just as impressive - I never have to wait for it to catch up! Great work from all.
