In my C:/Users/Username/Appdata/Roaming folder there is a .krita folder and a krita folder. Both of them have temp folders containing a total of 23.4GB of .tmp files. What are those files doing there, and is it ok to delete them?
Thanks, (c: |

thats weird - I dont even have such catalog (with dot in front of name). Just regular "krita" one there and it takes 3MB...

Maybe the .krita folder is a remnant of an older build? It's not the first time this has happened though, and I've since cleaned out the drive. Hmm.
Thanks for checking by the way. |

Mine has five files. Two of them are 647KB and the others are 1KB. Perhaps this is related to temporary image data that is created so the program doesn't waste time acquiring data about images/projects?

At one point we used .krita, then changed to krita -- and then in dev build I accidentally made it .krita again. If the folder is growing a lot, check whether there are temporary files in there, or whether you've installed a lot of brushes. |

Hi Boud,
I deleted the .krita folder as I was running seriously low on disk space, and it doesn't seem to have broken anything. I have 88 files in the paintoppresets folder and 43 files in the brushes folder. The only files in the tmp- folder are 9 KolmageDataxxxxxx.tmp files (the x's being a series of numbers and letters) of 676 KB each, and 22 KRITA_SWAP_FILE_xxxxxxxxxxxx.tmp files of various sizes, the largest of which is 672 MB. Is it ok to empty out this folder? I also found a pile of Krita .report files directly in the C:/Users/Username directory, which don't look like they belong there... (c: |

Yes, you can remove those files: they are swap files used by Krita and probably got left when Krita stopped unexpectedly.
