Hi.
Just downloaded Krita 2.9.5.2 (X 64) and installed it; when trying to modify one brush Krita just shut down. After a few more failures just reinstalled previous build of Krita ( 2.9.5.1), that was OK before. but now is doing exactly the same mistake Krita 2.9.5.2 did. Don´t know if this is a bug but since the installation of the new build I'm not able to make new brushes, even after reinstalling the previous build. Any ideas to correct this? Thanks for any explanation about this issue. PS I took a screen shot but don't see any option to attach it to the post. |

That's terrifying. Could you sent us the preset you made somehow?
(And I am afraid you will have to use dropbox, or imgur int he case of images. This forum doesn't have upload.) |

Hi.
I did not made any preset because i had no time to do anything; I opened Edit brush settings and when I tried to draw something in the blank space at the right side Krita just vanishes from the monitor. Just open Edit brush settings and try to draw a line in the blank space!... PS Krita works fine if I don't go to Edit brush settings and do not try the brush in the white board at the right. https://www.dropbox.com/s/a2gdzmoyj8m9k ... 1.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/mzpok1nmzq1f1 ... .jpeg?dl=0 |

that's because the error is happening in the kritarc (configuration) file. Would you mind sharing that with us? It's in %appdata%, and could tell us why you are having this crash.
Rename it, and you'll reset Krita's config. |

Hi, Thera
I found three kritarc files: C:\Users\Duarte\AppData\Local\krita\share\config C:\Program Files\Krita (x64)\share\config C:\Users\Duarte\AppData\Roaming\krita\share\config What are asking me to do? Do you want me to send the files to you? And what do you mean by renaming it? Do I change the name? And which ( of the three ) I rename? |

It worked; thanks Thera.
Just one question, can I update now to 2.9.5.2 without problems? After all, it was after the update that the problem begun! Thanks again. |

The only difference between 2.9.5.2 and 2.9.5.1 is that there's localisation files in the former. So it shouldn't make a difference... If it happens again when installing 2.9.6, just delete the kritarc file and don't uninstall 2.9.6. |

Hi everyone,
I've also had the same issue with 2.9.5.1 which extended in the actual painting strokes, meaning that after a couple of strokes on the canvas Krita would immediately crash. I 've had this both in my cintiq companion and my main machine, both of them running windows 8.1. I figured out that if I raised the memory more than 75% or the image pool sliders more than ~5-6%, this crash happened. These settings can be found under the new performance tab in Krita settings. I am still getting some dreadful moments where Krita stacks, cannot paint and cannot save (could not save....a layer is processing effects... etc). But the issue mentioned above has not occurred since I found a safe range for the memory usage in the performance palette. I hope it helps. |

An update:
I just installed 2.9.5.2 and can reproduce the crash. The memory settings seem to be irrelevant after all. It only happens if I switch the "enable performance logging" on. |
