Hi there! The merge selected layer function doesn't seem to do anything on windows 8.1. I tried with both Krita 2.9.7.6 x64 and x32, with both the default shortcut and a custom one (and I have multiple layers selected in the layers docker)... I also can't find a "merge selected layers" in the menus at the top.

Hi Nathan,

The merge function has undergone some changes, The merge selected is now combined with merge, If you press Ctrl+E with multiple layer selected it will merge those layers, or if you select one layer and press CTRL+E it will merge it with layer below.

thank you

Ah I see where the issue came from. Actually there's a new option "Merge selected layers" in the shortcuts panel, and this one doesn't work. You have to set and use the shortcut exclusively on "merge with layer below". I had no shortcut assigned to the latter.

This can be misleading, but at least it's fixed for me, thanks!

Excellent work! I appreciate all of the hard work to get these updates out so quickly!

The only issue I'm finding, is that Krita will crash when it starts having to go over 1.5GB of memory in the process (x64. x86 seems to take less). It will load files that take that much memory, but a couple tools worth of additional memory, and it crashes. I believe this is the bug many are complaining about, where if you use a certain tool long enough, it crashes.

I posted a bug report about this: Bug #352781

If you need any more information, please let me know. I am more than happy to help in any way possible.
