I tried to install the "Wintab" software, because this is the official solution to Surface Pro 3 . but I found that doesn't work.
I found in sketchbook the pressure sensitivity works good, I hope krita can also support this. Can some one check that? I know my device is kind of new, but I think this is the best platform to use Krita. |

Well, not unless someone donates hardware, or someone with the hardware donates time: these things are impossible to fix without either. I did hear that Krita worked on a Surface Book, from a Twitter post, so I guess that there are wintab drivers available... In any case, even on a Surface 3, it's hard to get the wintab drivers to work: I actually had to install the trial of photoshop CC to get them to work properly.

Today I tried again, I found I was using wrong version WinTab driver, should use this for SP4, I was using WinTab for SP3.

To be a bit more precise, you have to download/install two things from Download Surface Pro 4 Drivers and Firmware from Official Microsoft Download Center Microsoft page.
Then, pressure sensitivity works fine, and latency between pen touch and drawing start is gone. Maybe this trick should be added to KritaFAQ — Documentation / Microsoft Surface Pro and NTrig, as a lot of people may encounter this problem. |

Please also update to install x64 c++ redistributable. the FAQ only says to install 32bit. my pen sensitivity and eraser worked only after this. Might have to do with the 32/64 bit driver issues. i.e. krita thinks in 32 when you installed 64 or vice versa.

It is pretty incredible how different these things seem to be from device to device -- because some people tell me that only the 32 bits drivers worked for them, others only the 64 bits drivers -- all on 64 bits Windows 10 and 64 bits Krita.

I had an issue with sensitivity as well.
I finally figured it out with this: http://www.timesnews.co.uk/14610-fix-is ... rface-pro/ The Wacon drivers ended up being the problem for me. Hope this helps you! |

In the FAQ and on this help board it says to download the driver SurfacePro4_Win10_161201_0.msi but that's not an option from Surface Pro 4 drivers anymore. The only options are
SurfacePro4_Win10_10586_1702001_0.msi 223.9 MB SurfacePro4_Win10_10586_1702001_1.zip 591.2 MB SurfacePro4_Win10_15063_1702001_0.msi 226.3 MB SurfacePro4_Win10_15063_1702001_1.zip 596.4 MB SurfacePro4_Win10_1701001_0.msi 235.6 MB SurfacePro4_Win10_1701001_0.zip 590.3 MB Wintab_x32_1.0.0.20.zip 4.5 MB Wintab_x64_1.0.0.20.zip And I downloaded the Wintab 64. I restarted my computer after installing and I tried the SurfacePro4_Win10_1701001_0.zip and it didn't work. Can anybody help, and maybe update the FAQ? |

We can only update the faq when we know what works... And since I don't have an SP4, and my SP3 cannot be reset to factory anymore, I cannot test drivers myself.

Im running into the same problem with krita on the surface pro 2017, but im guessing it's because krita doesnt support native windows? is there a similar solution to this only with different downloads? im rubbish with computers, so im kind of at a loss here... :')

The latest version of Krita supports the native Windows 8 Pointer API, which is Windows Ink, which is what the Surface Pro's pen uses. So get the latest stable version: that must work after you enable it in Krita's settings and restart. If it doesn't, your system is messed up. We cannot help in that case.
