UI text size issues.

Thu Feb 04, 2016 6:35 pm
I don't know what happened, but some of the text on my Krita installation is too big, making impossible for me to do things like creating a new document. I looked in multiple places, but can't seem to find an option to adjust it.

Here's a screenshot of it. Notice the difference in size between the menu text and the other text.

What to do?

I'm puzzled as well :-) It looks like some windows scaling option has thrown Qt into confusion. You can try to move away the AppData\Roaming\krita folder and see if that helps, but otherwise, it's the second most puzzling bug report I've seen today!

This seems to affect VLC as well. I solved the issue by changing the scaling to 125%, logged out, then back in, changed the scaling back to 100%, logged out, then back in. It's a lackluster solution, but it worked.

Maybe add an independent scaling option inside Krita?

We can't do that -- that's just technically not possible, but if VLC is also affected it's clearly a bug in the interaction between Qt and your system. Vlc is also Qt-based. What you also can do is try the 3.0 pre-alpha, which is Qt5-based and should have all kinds of fixes for display scaling.
