Krita has started crashing on startup in windows 7. It was working previously without problems. I have tried installing the latest version, previous working versions, deleting the /krita directory in appData, running the .zip version. I get the same result no matter what I try: it crashes during or just after the splash screen.
DebugView captures the following when I launch Krita 2.9.11.0: 00000001 0.00000000 [2288] krita(2288)/koffice (lib komain) void __cdecl KoPluginLoader::load(const class QString &,const class QString &,const struct KoPluginLoader::PluginsConfig &,class QObject *): Loading plugin "Animation Docker" failed, "Cannot load library C:/Program Files/Krita (x64)/lib/kde4/kritaanimationdocker.dll: The specified procedure could not be found." 00000002 0.26658815 [2288] libpng warning: Duplicate iCCP chunk 00000003 0.26709613 [2288] libpng warning: Duplicate iCCP chunk 00000004 0.26764250 [2288] libpng warning: Duplicate iCCP chunk 00000005 0.27049932 [2288] libpng warning: Duplicate iCCP chunk 00000006 0.53485835 [2288] Object::connect: No such signal QToolButton::triggered() 00000007 0.53488940 [2288] Object::connect: (sender name: 'bnRaise') 00000008 0.53490317 [2288] Object::connect: No such signal QToolButton::triggered() 00000009 0.53491563 [2288] Object::connect: (sender name: 'bnLower') Running the .zip version shows the same thing but without the kritaanimationdocker.dll error. |

The animation docker dll shouldn't be in there at all... But it cannot be the reason for the crash, it just doesn't get loaded. If I understand you correctly, 2.9.11 did work for you previously? Because if that's the cause, we have to look for the problem somewhere else on your system.

No, I previously had 2.9.10.0 working. But all versions produce the same QToolButton::triggered error above and crash at the same point.
I've also had problems with my nvidia display driver. It also stopped working last week ( once only ). I tried to update it to the latest version, but I ran into problems with the NVIDIA installer ( a VBscript problem ). cheers |

Yes. I just downloaded the krita-master-f38b47e-x64 build, and it works without any problems. I suspect the problem is, as you suggest, the system not Krita, and that re-installing windows would resolve the problems. And that I will have to do that sooner rather than later. Until then I will see if I can get along with the 3.x beta version, which seems to work. |
