Eraser switch lag

Sat May 21, 2016 5:01 pm
So in Krita RC1 (and the previous betas as far as I'm aware) there's a lag when switching from eraser mode and back when eraser switch size is turned on. If it's turned off it's instant but it does introduce the problem of needing to resize every time. I don't mind too much because it's not that big of an issue but I thought it was worth a mention.

By lag, I mean once you press it there is a delay of 2 seconds(ish?) before any stroke placed down will appear and the eraser icon changes. Before I found out that turning off eraser switch mode fixes it I end up just using the freehand select and clearing the selection because it was much quicker.

I think I remember there was a bug report about it but I can't find it now.

Re: Eraser switch lag  Topic is solved

There's a slowness in the brush radius recalculation that's something dmitry's wanted to tackle forever. However, we've been playing with VC 1.2, and that solves quite a bit, so we hope to switch to that after 3.0 is released :) (We're currently using VC 0.7)
