I've been using Krita since like 2.8 or something, and my old tablet was working perfectly fine with it. Then 3.0 came out and now every following version is broken for me. The problem is that the pointer of the brush is about 100 pixels away from the actual mouse pointer and this distance grows as I move cursor down the canvas. The last working version for me was 2.9.10 (2.9.11 has that bug with creating new documents) and I can't even download it now as there's no link to previous versions downloads. So, my question is: will old and cheap tablets like mine be supported in next versions of Krita like they were supported in older ones? My tablet is Genius EasyPen i405.

"that bug with creating new documents" -- I have no idea what you're talking about.
"I can't even download it now as there's no link to previous versions downloads" -- all previous versions are exactly where they have always been: http://files.kde.org/krita/ The official location for 3.0 downloads is http://downloads.kde.org . "will old and cheap tablets like mine be supported in next versions of Krita like they were supported in older ones?" -- they have never been supported. If it worked, it was because by accident the incompentents who write the drivers for these tablets did something right, probably unintentionally. If the owners of those tablets support patches that don't break supported tablets, we can integrate them, but it wil still not be "officially supported." We cannot support hardware we don't own. Here's a nice little story on how bad the drivers for Genius tablets are: https://krita.org/en/item/anatomy-of-a-bug-fix/ |

Thank you for answering. The bug in 2.9.11 appeared when I tried to create new document having large image in clipboard. It made document creation window super-oversized so it was impossible to reach "Create" button. The workaround was to go to Google Images and copy some small picture which is silly to do all the time before creating new document. And thanks for providing the link to downloads, my bad that I couldn't find it myself. |
