Transparent area appears black in exported images. (png, jpg)

And the color becomes a bit darker as well. I realized this when I tried to edit some photo images in krita.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

No, this isn't a bug, and yes, you're missing something. A jpg image cannot have a transparent area. A png can. Next time you save as PNG, check the "Store alpha channel (transparency)" checkbox in the export options. See https://docs.krita.org/Saving_for_the_Web

If the "colors become a bit darker" you must make sure you're working in sRGB, and are not saving the sRGB profile with the PNG image.
