With instant preview on, I got short delays after brush strokes. I guess it happens in the moment when A calculation of brush strokes is being finished.
Which is not a big deal when I'm painting something with really heavy brushes, because it happens only once after many strokes (maybe krita takes those strokes as a one big process) But when I'm painting something with much simpler brushes with very few options, I got this delay after every one or two strokes. I'm manually switching the mode with many brushes, but It definitely bothers me a bit. Is there any way to prevent this? + btw 3.1 is unbelievably stable on windows, thanks to everyone involved in developing krita. + And It's normal that I can't do anything else(like making a new layer, cropping it...etc) until the calculation process of the Instant preview mode ends, right? I'm just wondering. |

You can untoggle instant preview per brush instead of globally, it's on the lower-right of the brush editor. We're right now kinda puzzling on how to best update the default set for taking instant preview and other brush settings into account.
And I am glad to hear 3.1 is so stable :3 |

we definitely need to make the instant preview mode a bit smarter with when and how it functions. One solution a person came up with is to ignore Instant Preview if the brush size is under so many pixels. Instant Preview doesn't really start adding much of a benefit unless you have bigger brushes and your canvas is zoomed out.
We already tell quite a few people to turn it off if they are getting brush lag as a troubleshooting step. |
