usually that means that your graphics card driver is outdated/buggy/whatever. please try if turning off "Settings" -> "Configure Krita" -> "Display" -> "OpenGL" helps.

If that helps, it means there's trouble with your graphics card driver, so please try updating that from the vendor's website. Asus should have a section on their website for driver downloads and things like that.

Hope that helps!

Hi, I have the same problem running W7 64 bits, and the chipset of my graphic card is intel. Sometimes Krita crash when I start a new image or try to open an existing one, sometimes doesn't open even. I have tried to deactivate OpenGL in settings, I have installed several versions of the program (32 bit, 64 bit and portable one) and the problem remains... Could you please confirm if it's due to the graphic card? Then I´ll have to asume I couldn´t use Krita in that computer...
Thanks a lot.

If Krita only "sometimes" crashes when opening or creating an image, whether opengl is enabled or not, then the graphics driver is not the problem. If the graphics driver would the problem, Krita would always crash.

In this case, something else must be going on. Please read https://docs.krita.org/Dr._Mingw_debugger and using the lates 65 bits portable zip, try to reproduce the issue and get a crash log. If you have a crash log, please make a bug report.

Ok, i'll try what you advice me. The most strange thing is that I've been able to run krita two or three times, just after being installed, and then I close the program and when I open it again, the problem reproduces... This with the portable version. When I have installed the 32 bit or the 64 bit versions, it only runs untill the image of presentation, then nothing happens, no main window is opened, and the image disappears.
Thanks a lot for the fast answer.
