Whenever I try to install Krita, I am met with an error that says "The procedure entry points could not be located in the dynamic link library D:\folder\krita-3.3.1-x64\krita-3.3.1-x64\bin\libKF5WidgetsAddons.dll.", when I click okay it shows me the message again, except libKF5WidgetsAddons.dll. is replaced with "libkritawidgets.dll.". Someone please help with this, I've deleted and installed Krita multiple times, I've downloaded the portable version, I downloaded it on a different browser. I've tried everything I know of and it keeps giving me that error. Please help

Have you got some weird security software installed? That might decide to put krita's files in quarantaine.

My dad has this spyware thing on my laptop that he really seems to trust(although I hardly ever see it elsewhere). That could be the what's causing it, but is there any way for me to prevent it from putting those files in quarantaine without deleting the software? It's saved my laptop from at least one virus and my dad probably won't like me deleting it. The files are in the zipped folder(portable) but are never able to be located when I unzip the folder.

I'm sorry, but I really cannot help there... Maybe you could try the windows store version, that should be totally trusted (but it's not gratis), or maybe the setup.exe.

Usually security programs have some kind of exception option, try to find it and add krita folder.

Turns out the files have always been there, but for some reason Krita just decided to give me those errors. I still don't know why though. Also isn't the windows store version paid?

Yes, it is paid. It's a lot of bother to package Krita for the Windows store... I'm not sure what to suggest next, other than installing using the setup.exe.

Tried that too, didn't work. It did the same thing as with the portable version except with different file names. Guess I better look for another program for animating. Thanks for trying to help though~ I appreciate it

You'd better fix your laptop because this is not a problem with Krita; it's a problem with your system.

Turns out it actually was a problem with my system(my SSD, to be exact). I decided to try again by downloading Pencil 2D and was met with the same problem, so I did it again except on my HHD and it worked completely fine(had to delete it though, my HHD is significantly low on space). My SSD then started to corrupt multiple photos and files so I decided to format my SSD. Afterwards, I downloaded Krita again and no issue whatsoever. It was probably all the corrupted folders( why they were corrupted, I have no idea)

Um... Probably because your SSD is dying and should be replaced, not just reformatted.

Probably, but it's pretty new so I'll try and keep it until it dies. Won't be any major loss since I keep all my important files backed up on mediafire

Yeah no, download CrystalDiskInfo (or other disk monitoring tools) and check the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive. If it's dying, don't use it. Also, filling the drive full is bad for SSDs and it's better to leave at least 20% free spaces most of the time [citation needed]. Any long-term data storage should use a traditional HDD.

If it is new, then check if you have some kind of guarantee of sorts, for example, here in the Netherlands, electronics have a 1 year guarantee by law. It might be a better to use that instead of using something as scary as a broken drive. |

I had the same problem - the solution was to remove Microsoft C++ redistributables and reinstall them - I only needed to install the 2019 version which includes the 2015 version.
